IMO, there should be no such thing as legal abortion after the first trimester unless it's done as a lifesaving measure (or a very serious health saving measure such as where continuing with the pregnancy is liable to cause a heart-attack, stroke, etc.).
If you absolutely have decided that you don't want to have a baby with Down Syndrome, don't dilly-dally into a time when the pregnancy now includes a thumb-sucking baby with a face.
But is it really such a horrible experience to have a child with Down Syndrome?
Do people with Down Syndrome really "suffer" from this condition?
It seems to me as if people with Down Syndrome enjoy their lives just fine, so why is it so acceptable to have their chances of being born taken away from them?
However--if you absolutely can't bear the thought of giving birth to "one of those"--at least terminate your pregnancy before waiting until you're more than three months along.
