Inconvenient Truths

Inconvenient truths...I like that description. I know the feeling of not wanting to believe something horrible is true but having no other choice.

From what I hear, "they" (those who benefit the most from status quo) are trying to shut "us" (those of us who stick our necks out and make even the most peaceful of waves) up by making attempts to turn us into "people of interest" who are, likely, not only mentally-ill but, also, dangerous.

Even if the truth of a so-called "theory" of conspiracy is so plain that, if it were a snake, it would jump out and bite people, we're not supposed to speak up/speak out--and, if we do, we could end up with all kinds of restrictions placed on us.

What we have to do for now is to keep on speaking out/speaking up before it not only falls on deaf ears but, also, sets us up for the worst kind of identity theft!!!

Under Construction

Remember that we're only seeing the bricks we're making and putting together, but God sees the entire cathedral we're building with the choices we make. We tweak here and there at times. Do major remodeling at other times. Will, someday, finally get it right!!!

Stand Up And Occupy The Shadow Government!!!

President Obama isn't the scary one, imo.

I believe that there are a lot of good things he had hoped he could do as President but has now found his hands tied. The ones tying his hands are the scary ones.

This was, likely, the same way with George W. Bush.

It was suggested to me that there is another shadow government in charge--and this is the government we need to be going after.

We need to dethrone this royalty by not going along with their lying agenda!!!

What's the difference between the good and bad parts of government so we know of what we should be aware?

By examining good laws and bad laws!

Good Laws: Those laws that protect you from being murdered, raped, robbed, scammed, enslaved, etc.

Bad Laws: Those laws that try to dictate what kinds of plants you should grow, the personal lives of consenting adults in private places like their own homes, etc.

Vultures With/Without Feathers

What's the difference between certain humans and vultures? The presence or absence of feathers, for one thing...

My Take On Former President, Jimmy Carter

Jimmy Carter didn't get his good reputation as an effective leader from being a good (as in capable of successful leadership) President, as he pretty much had his hands tied during his single term of office.

However, the Presidency was a way to help him to (as we say in Internet language today) go viral and become a true leader in his years after the four years of drama in The White House.

He did what he could while he was there as well--but just had been put at the disadvantage of trying to serve his term with all sorts of personal agendas of other people putting stumbling blocks in his way.

Write A Peaceful Life Story!!!

How to cut down on (or, perhaps, even completely do away with) war crimes is to keep the following message in mind:

It doesn't matter whether it's Democrats, Republicans, or people of other parties or no party at all. It doesn't matter if it's Christians, Jews, Muslims, or people of other religions or no religion at all. Skin color doesn't matter. Financial status doesn't matter. Sexual orientation doesn't matter. Gender doesn't matter. Body size doesn't matter. What matters is whether or not we finally realize that the pen is mightier than the sword and will choose the pen as our first weapon unless forced to do otherwise!

PHEW!!!
I Smell A Bottom-Line Cutting The Cheese!

Depending on what the age of consent is in her location, she could still be seen as a CHILD if she had an eighteen year old boyfriend and they were sexually active.

Since he was old enough to vote, he could be charged with a crime and have to register as a sex-offender/child-molester for the rest of his life.

I've heard of cases where even an underage boyfriend could end up charged as an adult for being in a sexually active relationship with her--with the results still being that he would have to register as a sex-offender/child-molester for the rest of his life.

Isn't it ironic how someone seen as a CHILD when it comes to how sexually active she is with her boyfriend could end up charged as an ADULT for a felony--with the felony charge being a trumped-up one.

I think that the industry called the prison business wants to laugh all the way to the bank and are licking their chops at the thought of another addition to the head-count...

The Unfortunate
(And Downright Horrible)
Double Standard Re: Virginity

I'm all for saving oneself for marriage while, at the same time, don't like the attitude that anybody (especially, a woman) who doesn't is a "fallen" piece of trash--especially, when seen that way by some man who has been around and around the block getting his premarital jollies from women who have already been "deflowered" and (worse yet) seeing himself as "scoring" when he smooth talks a woman out of her virginity and, then, trashes her.

God!!!

When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
I Corinthians 13:11
New KJV

It refers to spiritual growth and how the more we grow the more we understand.

Like, I have a different concept of God now than I did as a child.

As a child, I thought He looked something like Santa Claus only wearing a robe instead of a red suit.

Now, I understand that God doesn't particularly look like anything but is, instead, a spirit that can be represented as simply the entire universe or in something like a burning bush or someone who appears looking like George Burns.

God is the spirit of all that is perfectly good.

Anytime we do good things, we reflect the spirit of God. When we aren't on our best behavior, the mirror becomes different stages of darkness.

Imo, there has only once and never will be again, another Jesus Who reflected God so purely during His life.

Jesus is God throughout eternity!!!

Jesus will be the representation of God Who waits for us to lead us out of our bodies and into the next phase of Eternity!!!

He's the White Light people talk about seeing in the tunnel when they have a NDE. He turned an awesome white during the transformation on the mountaintop. I believe He's why Native Americans refer to God as The Great White Spirit!!!

This is how I best understand God at this time, but I'm sure that I'm only describing such a minute piece as Something so indescribable with mere words!!!

Next Time You Decide To Go Postal
Point A Weed At Your Intended Victims
Instead Of A Loaded Gun
!!!

Isn't it odd that there's such difficulty in getting certain weapons (not to be confused with guns for hunting, protection, and target practice that aren't of the calibre meant only for the military and police) banned for public sale or use--yet, so easy to keep this weed/plant-of-personal-choice illegal!?!

Isn't it odd that parents are actually being threatened with the removal of children from their homes if they don't comply with the opinion of school faculty and administrators that their children need to be on Ritalin and/or its ilk--while the powers-that-be who would back decisions like this in a heartbeat are, too often, the same ones who want to continue having marijuana remain illegal enough that you could face everything from confiscation of your property to years in prison for even making the choice to use it yourself!?!

Yes! Some people DO use marijuana in ways that don't make good sense, but they do that with a lot of things.

I can tell you this much: no movie-goers, teachers, kids, school administrators, people eating at restaurants, etc. have been killed in a matter of minutes because somebody was using marijuana with no other factors (e.g. a spark from lighting up causing a fire; using marijuana but, also, having other unrelated issues going on, etc.) involved.

Would that the person who approached a very special friend in his car late on September 11, 1978 had a joint in his/her hand instead of the gun that he/she used to shorten Roberto's time with those of us who loved him. Roberto was only 51 at the time and, likely, would have still been here today and would have celebrated his 86th birthday this past week on April 11.

Roberto's son has--in spite of losing his dad in such a tragic way when he was only 12 years old--grown into a man who has done his dad proud. He's a loving husband and dad as well as being a wonderful pillar of his community who has dedicated his life to following in Jesus' footsteps and making so many positive differences in the lives of others.

However, there's a hole in his life where his dad should have been all of these years.

Former Mouseketeer, Annette, passed away this week after a courageous, decades-long battle with MS. Would her life have been extended--or, at least, have an improved quality to it--if marijuana had been an available option included in her treatment? Would she have even chosen that route?

Whether she would or wouldn't have, she should have at least had the choice without fear of ending up behind bars.

Using marijuana is one of those things that has been referred to as a victimless "crime"--that is, a personal choice that should have never become a crime (and, on top of that, such a "serious" crime that people have ended up in prison for even decades for its use).

I could say even more about this, but this is enough for now...

Response To A Post About
The Erstwhile Central State Hospital
In Indianapolis, Indiana

I'm currently writing a book in which one of the subjects covered is mental dis-ease. When it's finally written, it will be giving some very eye-opening views on the subject. I'm with the camp that has fellow campers such as Peter Breggin (a psychiatrist), Ginger Breggin (his wife) and Robert Whitaker (a fellow writer).

A story from my own family: My mom--Lillian Ainsley (Jobe) Phillips--was born & raised in Cunot; graduated from Cloverdale High School in 1939 (Her brother/My uncle, George Jobe, owned and operated Cloverdale Garage for many years.); and, after that, went to work at The Spencer Highway Grill (owned by the Teagarden family) in Spencer until she got a job at Delco-Remy in Anderson.

She usually commuted by Interurban with Uncle George picking her up at the station in Greencastle and driving her home/driving her to the station when it was time to return to work.

However, in time, she bought her own car and went back and forth that way.

Going and coming, she would pass by Central State Hospital.

We had a shirt-tail cousin named Bob Routt who lived in a house on a hill in Cunot on the west side of the highway.

One time, he asked my mom (tongue-in-cheek) how she ever managed to get by Central State Hospital without getting snatched up and taken inside to be admitted--to which she answered:

"I just pretend to be normal until I get past it, then I go back to being myself again!"

Responding To A Very Serious Prayer Request

You've got my prayers, love, and positive thoughts!!!

This sounds downright scary--and that's because it IS downright scary!

Never feel bad for feeling fear and anxiety about this, as fear and anxiety are very real feelings!

Jesus owned those feelings both when He was praying in the garden and during His crucifixion. "Let this cup be taken from me!" and "My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me!?!" are a far cry from just wearing a big grin and singing "Don't worry! Be happy!"

Yet, continue to feel the comfort that God is lovingly carrying you through this time, and seek His guidance in what's the best thing to do and when to do it.

At this time, both my mom and I--along with several others--are going through a challenging time that was brought about by choices we'd made with the best of intentions, though nothing that compares to what you seem to be experiencing.

We have been finding that--just when we think we have our problems licked--another stumbling block gets thrown in our path. But we simply do what we can and trust God alone with the rest, and we've been finding that each of those stumbling blocks (which God has guided us to turn into challenges) are met with a solution at just the right time!

Each one becomes a learning experience for us that we can share with others!!!

You've got a serious situation going on there, so I'm praying that you get out of it a.s.a.p.

The best thing to remember is that God was with you before this was going on in your life and will continue to be with you both now and when you're finally able to see the current events as nothing but a very bad memory.

Believe it or not, some of what's taking place even now will be going into that description known as "The Good Old Days," because God is always sending wonderful blessings our way, even in the midst of a terrible storm of life like what you're now going through!!!

Ainsley Jo Phillips
April 5, 2013

The above is my response to a woman named Joelyn who was asking for prayers re: living in a situation where she felt as if she and her family were in danger right down to their lives.

When she wrote her prayer request, she wasn't specific re: the danger.

However, God knows what this would be.

Please join me in prayer for her.

Someday, we'll come to know what we've prayed her and her family through.

Please, also, keep my mom, others who are going through related problems, and myself in your prayers--and please pray for our antagonists as well, as they, obviously, need all of the prayers that they can get to help them to see the error of their ways and to decide to live better lives.

Could Things Have Turned Out Differently?

To use this case to justify official euthanasia can be dangerous, so, hopefully, it never will.

If it does make doctor-done/doctor-assisted euthanasia legal and justifiable, you're going to see many elderly/handicapped people being legally-murdered just to get them out of the way after they're deemed to be "useless." To me, that's scary!!!

There should never be a death penalty available for the "crime" of being elderly and/or handicapped.

However, cases like this should be tried individually and compassionately.

Many of them wouldn't even make it to the courtroom, I'm sure.

There still would have to be an investigation to make sure that the surviving spouse wasn't a Michael Schiavo type instead of someone like this brokenhearted man who reluctantly made himself a widower out of a deep love for his wife.

There are no easy answers--though could it be that, if people were given more choice of treatment, etc., they might not end up even making decisions like this one.

If this woman were given options to where she would have a better experience as she journeyed towards the time where she died of natural causes, she might not have decided to leave.

There are alternative treatments out there, and it shouldn't be illegal for a consenting adult to choose one over the Big Pharma option--and certainly far better than a bullet to the brain.

Ainsley Jo Phillips
March 29, 2013

This was written in response to the reaction of many who left comments (that euthanasia should be legalized) in response to the case of the 86 year old husband (fortunate enough to have a compassionate judge who sentenced him to probation instead of prison) who was arrested for fatally shooting his 81 year old sick wife because she begged him to.

Burning The American Flag

I've never burned a flag in my life, and love to fly and wave our flag instead.

However, our country would lose a very important part of what makes it great if flag-burning were outlawed.

Flag-burning isn't--by most people engaging in this kind of demonstration--a message of hating America.

Instead, it's a message that can best be interpreted as:

"We love our country, but we don't like what we see happening to it, so this is our way of sending a message that things need to change or else our country will be in danger of becoming something that we don't want it to be!!!"

Some Of My Thoughts On Pedophile Priests

It's not my opinion that the best solution for priests who have a mental dis-ease that tempts them to sexually abuse children should be to have them kicked out of the priesthood and thrown into prison.

If I were running things, I would give them a position where they could be priests but away from children--like in a monastery somewhere (incarcerated instead of being allowed to come and go as they please unsupervised) with their duties being things like gardening, praying, adult education, etc.

While it might be nice to be able to give them the II Corinthians 5:17 clean bill of health, we can't risk innocent lives to do so.

Re: The Making Of Mounds Lake Reservoir (I'm--Obviously--Against It!)

Even if a decision gets made at some time to tear down part or all of the original Mounds Mall to bring it up-to-date, whatever gets built to replace it belongs right where it is now instead of the space being filled with a pollution-causing hole full of filthy water.

Evidence seems to indicate that any reservoir built on this spot would be like building a giant TOILET.

These Gag-Orders Make Me Want To Gag!!!

Pretty soon, cupcakes won't have icing since icing--and the alternative word, frosting--sounds wintery and children have died during a blizzard. They won't be able to call them cupcakes, because of all of the references to cups in The Bible, and this might be offensive to a nonChristian child. Pretty soon after that, no food at all at parties since the food of choice might offend someone. Finally, no parties so that the school won't be seen as being partisan. Sheesh!!!

Ainsley Jo Phillips
March 15, 2013

The above is the comment I left to go with a news story shared on Facebook.  Below is the news story...
Since third-grader Casey Fountain of Caro, Mich., was turning 9 on a school day, his mother sent cupcakes to class with him -- 30 of them, enough for everyone. But the boy's father said he got a call from Susan Wright, the principal of Schall Elementary School, saying the decorations on the cupcakes were "insensitive" -- 2" toy soldiers -- considering that there was a school shooting in another state a few months before. The school removed all of the green army men and replaced them with different decorations. "We
walk a delicate balance in teaching non-violence in our buildings and trying to ensure a safe, peaceful atmosphere," Wright said, adding she meant "no disrespect" for the military who "defend our right to have differences." She then played the "child safety" card, and noted, "Living in a democratic society entails respect for opposing opinions." (RC/WNEM Flint)

A Time To (For Example) Text And A Time NOT To (For Example) Text...

There's a time and place for everything (at least, for everything that's positive)--and, by the same token, there's a time and place for NOT doing some things. For example, texting while driving. I don't know how ANYone could believe that it's okay to be in the driver's seat letting the vehicle move along on its own while you communicate using a tiny typewriter.

How To Up Your Chances Of A Divorce And/Or Very Unhappy Marriage

A big reason for divorce--or, at least, a very unhappy marriage--having a very good chance of becoming part of ones future happens even before the marriage takes place.

What I'm talking about is marrying for "the wrong reasons."

Some things (and there are even more than these) that would fall under the category of "the wrong reasons" are as follows:

buying into the idea that marriage is something that "good" people do, so you set out to get married because you want to be married instead of because you've found someone you want to marry

getting married on the rebound while still carrying the torch for someone else whom you believe you "should" get over and go about "getting on with your life"

getting married to someone of the opposite sex in order to become "healed" from being gay

marrying someone--even while having a gut-feeling that this person isn't truly "the one"--because all of your friends think that you and this person make such a wonderful couple

marrying someone mainly because you want to keep or create an image of belonging to a certain segment of society, and this person is a means to make this happen

marrying someone because you've been together for so long that you've already invested too many months/years in the relationship (even if it's a very bad relationship) just to leave and start over again

getting married because you're afraid of growing old and lonely

getting married based on some physical characteristic (e.g. large breasts. toned muscles) while not getting to know the person's personality traits

getting married to someone in hopes of changing him/her to fit your image of the ideal spouse

getting married because you went too far and lost your virginity, so this is the only way to "make it right"

getting married because the two of you have created a child together even though your main interest in each other is more of a lustful nature than a loving nature

getting married because you think there's something wrong with you NOT to want to marry such a wonderful person--even though your heart is telling you that you aren't in love with this person but are just in a comfortable, positive, but platonic relationship.

Here's something I wrote at Facebook about what has been written about in this book--as well as my impressions of Singapore re: what I've already learned about it:This book (a compilation of several writers from Singapore) is, imo, a must-read. To me, Singapore sounds a lot like the fictional-but-symbolic communities of Stepford and the one that was the setting for Shirley Jackson's short story The Lottery. That is, it is sold to the world as a wonderful place in which to live when, in truth, living there isn't all its cracked up to be. Let me put it this way. If The Orient Express came back into being and I was riding it, when it made a stop in Singapore, you would find me remaining on the train!!!

Do The Golden Arches Cause Fallen Arches?

Back in the "good old days" when there was no fast food, chemical preservatives, and other food vices, people still came in a variety of sizes.

People also ended up getting diseases such as cancer--not to mention whole areas of people getting seriously/fatally ill due to epidemics.

At sixty, I've lived long enough to even see certain foods going back and forth from being praised to being demonized with one example of such being the cranberry.

The biggest example of having our minds messed with, imo, doesn't seem to be getting done by McDonald's commercials but, instead, done by various groups and individuals who have gotten various ones of us so confused that we hardly know what to eat/not eat next...

"The Three Bells" by The Browns

My grandpa (George Elmer "Greeley" Jobe) passed away on my first full day of first grade (August 31, 1959).

It was a rainy morning dark and gray when his soul winged its way to Heaven.

I had no idea that he had passed until I got home from school.

This song has always reminded me of that day in my personal history.

I could personally feel the pain--even worse than mine--of those children who came home from school on 9-11-01 to learn that one or both parents weren't coming home again...

Elvis: Alive? Or Dead?

Elvis IS alive--with Jesus in Heaven!!!

Like Daniel, his eyes have died but he sees more than we do and is a star in the face of the sky!!!

Even if it turns out that rumors of his passing have been greatly exaggerated, he wouldn't look like he did when he was 42 unless he was either wearing a costume or had a lot of plastic surgery done.

Rick Huxley of The Dave Clark 5 passed away recently, and he looked adorable in the picture that went with his obituary--but not adorable in the sense of looking like a young rock star.

He looked more like the description of The Old Lamplighter in that wonderful song The Browns made a hit back in the late 1950s or early 1960s.

He looked soooooooo precious!

An Elvis still here on this side would, likely, look more like The Old Lamplighter these days as well.

Daylight Savings & Wasting Food In Hopes Of Losing Weight

We get the same amount of hours each day--longer amounts of daytime as we progress towards the longest day of the year (around June 20 or June 21) and shorter amounts of daytime as we hit the longest day and start traveling towards the shortest day of the year (around December 20 or December 21) at which time the days start growing longer again.

Daylight Savings Time doesn't make the day longer--it only makes the time different by one hour so that it will seem as if it's getting darker/brighter earlier/later than the day before.

It's an illusion such as using a smaller plate to make you seem as if you're getting more food--and the ridiculous thing of only eating half of what's on your plate and throwing out the other half in hopes of losing weight. All that does is waste food and have you spending twice as much on groceries.

The smaller plate illusion is, imo, a great idea. However, let me warn you that, if you EVER did the latter when I was the one buying the food, I would be very tempted to invite you back to another dinner party; tell you not to serve yourself like the other guests due to having trouble managing food; and, then, serve you a single green bean while saying that, when you ate it, I would put another bite of food on your plate if you wanted it.

We Need To Always Have the U.S.P.S.

Call me old-fashioned, but I like the idea of opening my own mail and dealing with it. I'm one of the people who--in spite of doing a lot of my communicating with email--still like sending and receiving snail mail. I believe that--no matter what we might think--most of us would miss snail mail if it were gone. This is also a potential invasion of privacy. If I wanted everybody to know what I might be writing to a personal friend, relative, or business associate, I would walk up and down the street with a bullhorn announcing it!!! We need to keep the U.S.P.S. or we're giving up our privacy!!!

No Easy Way Out!!!

Some people believe that Jesus will serve as Calgon when it comes to dealing with the problems of the world.

However, I believe He's meant to serve as our guide and empowerer when we make up our minds to see what could be, ask "Why not!?!" and get ready to share the love, good, and positive vibes!!!  Spiritual elbow grease needed!!!

Meow! (or) What's That Dead Cat Doing In My Basement!?!

Have you ever gone through an experience of once thinking that somebody was about the best thing since sliced bread--and, then, realizing too late that, if that person were sliced bread, he would be covered with mold, and the mold would be to the place where it was growing fur!?!
